Eco-Somatic Therapy

&

Sound Healing

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.

My journey coming into this work is a winding story, as nature itself tends to be. I began deep-diving into the somatic realm about 10 years ago through the path of trauma-informed yoga, which extended into a yoga therapy certification. After working privately with clients for a decade I knew that somatic practices were without a doubt a wonderfully effective healing tool for symptoms of trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and C-PTSD. My work in the Eastern space flourished and I desired to round out my own practice by pursuing licensure on the Western path, as an effort to marry the two so that I could provide science-backed body-based therapeutics to my community. I completed a BA in Psychology in 2022, and am in my final years of a MA in Social Work. I am currently practicing therapeutic work under the license of Joshua Anthony, LCSW.

I truly believe that our external environment shapes our internal, and vis a versa. When we have been shaped by trauma and grief, we often unknowingly begin to live from a place of constant nervous system activation or shut-down, which inevitably holds us back from engaging with the world around us in a way that makes us feel truly present and alive. The tools we garnered to protect ourselves eventually become the tools that hold us back from connection and growth.

The heart of my work is to provide a healing container for you to experience the gentle awakening of your inner-self, who has always been there, beneath the layers of conditioning and the mask. What better place to do so than immersed in or inspired by Nature, our first home and healer. This is a holistic practice— engaging the nervous system, the subtle body, and the mind together to map out your internal landscape and how it interacts with your external surroundings. This goes much deeper than talk therapy- the eco-somatic and DBT practices weave together to re-wire the nervous system so that resilience, your ability to be comfortable with discomfort, grows and you are able to authentically live out the truest parts of yourself.

This is the winding way home.

My Training & Work

I’m a yoga therapist in training with Inner Peace Yoga Therapy and hold a 500-hour instructor certification from Root: Center for Yoga and Sacred Studies. I’ve earned additional certifications in trauma-informed yoga, trauma-informed yoga for children, Ayurveda, and yin yoga, totaling over 1,000 hours of training. I have a BA in Psychology and am also an MSW candidate at HPU, set to graduate in May 2027.

For eight years, I’ve been a trauma-informed yoga facilitator, offering private classes, group workshops, and retreats. I have worked at domestic violence shelters and in-patient rehab facilities providing yoga therapy, sound healing, and eco-somatic therapy groups. I teach online, locally on the Big Island, in Colorado and California, and lead retreats worldwide.

I’ve never made it through one yoga class, never once in my life. Today I made it through 70 minutes. This is the slow walk home. I feel like I did four sessions of talk therapy in one session.
